Paris Menswear Day 5-109

Day 5 Menswear

Paris menswear week is coming to an end and once again the day was full of great shows and amazing collections. It started with Pierre Cardin, who presented a so futuristic collection it was barely possible to believe that what we saw had really be designed by a human being, and not an extraterrestrial genius. How wonderful was it to be taken to Mars and see men looking at us through avant-garde circular sunglasses, wearing crazy jumpsuits, round sleeves cardigan or sleeveless monochromic bright colored coats. Fabric innovation was the main focus on the outfits and modern materials were mixed with very traditional ones, always saving a very strong visual effect. The end of the presentation featured more classic pieces, among which traditional grey and navy blue tailored suits.

It’s in a warehouse that Alber Elbaz decided to host the hundreds of guests present for the Lanvin show, in which tailored suits were worn with platform sandals and fabric transparence played an important role on jackets and coats.

How could you not smile when you attend an Agnes B. show? Romanticism is her key world and the pieces she presented proved it once again. It was Rock & Roll, lively and colorful and had everything you could ask a collection to propose: it even had this Marseille fashion style so peculiar to Agnes.

Get your eyes ready, because what Rynshu came with is not similar to anything you’ve seen before: those metallic pants are simply fantastic and promise to be fashionistas’ next must-have pieces. Songzio enabled us to relax after the intensity of Rynshu’s show thanks to pure lined T shirts and large pants in linen and soft cotton, and this is when we decided it was the moment to analyze the whole week.

What are the menswear trends for next Spring Summer? Well, there are three of them which will be impossible to avoid: so gentlemen, get ready to get in your wardrobe:

Black and white outfits only! Exit the bright colors and pastel tones that were so in this year. Back to basics black and white well tailored and if possible casual chic pieces. If you really feel the need of color, lime is your first alternative. The second one? Neon orange and yellow on accessories or very small pieces of your outfit: you will have to be careful not to overdose it, it could result dangerous.

Want to play it fashionable? Try a see through shirt worn over a nice print T-shirt, and if you are ready to draw the attention on your style, match them with platform shoes, either sandals or brogues, since Prada did them last season, they are in every show.
