Mataano Twins Ayaan & Idyl Mohallim Rule The Runway During New York Fashion Week The Los Angeles Fashion - Dana Elizabeth February 13, 2013 FASHION On Monday, February 11th, the fashion community came together for an exclusive runway preview of the Fall/Winter 2013 Mataano collection. Mataano, is the brainchild of Brooklyn twin sisters; Ayaan & Idyl Mohallim. The sisters eager to broaden their horizons and push the brand further; presented a collection of 20 looks, a direction that placed emphasis on power dressing. The design duo, defines their customer as a strong and edgy woman, one whom is in complete control of her own destiny. The kind of collection that any would be city-girl could dream of. Impeccably tailored coats, heavy washed silks accented with a touch of menswear embellishments tied the collection together beautifully. The collection is urban-meets-chic in the streets of New York with rich colors such as; pink mocha, Bordeaux, and the definitive color of the season navy. Onyx black rounded out the looks and set the tone for a collection that was surely well received.
