Kissing In Traffic is a fun, flirty, and youthful brand created by Jade Moss, 30, a successful entrepreneur, designer and founder of the fashion label located in the “Big Smoke”, London. The ambitious fashionista started her first vintage wholesale business in Yorkshire, at the tender age of seventeen. With no university degree and no background in fashion, the driven teenager decided to take a risk and start her business. “ Vintage was only just getting peoples attention so I found a vintage mill in Yorkshire and started picking the best bits for myself and for my friends then little boutiques and it grew and grew before I knew it I had a business. Then I decided to make a vintage inspired label from all the beautiful designs I had ideas all the time and I couldn’t sleep because of all the ideas so I decided to start my own line”. “I liked fashion from a very young age and had a flare for drawing, making and finding beautiful vintage things. I always seemed to stand out with the way I dressed growing up in such a small village. I am more of a business person even at twelve and thirteen years old I would make bracelets and necklaces and sell them at school in the playground”.
But before Jade created her company ‘Kissing In Traffic’, she was also a former owner of the delectable Camden icon, ‘The Runway Showroom’. The Runway Showroom was a unique shop that “bridged independent designers with buyers and had seventy two independent designer concessions and a first shop with actual live catwalk”.
Jade also went on to pursuit other fashion projects for TV and film working with well-known directors such as Hermann Vaske.
Moss, now 30, is founder of Kissing In Traffic, which are unique vintage, inspired handmade designs created in her fashion studio of trendy Camden Town, London. What makes Kissing in Traffic special is her team consists of talented fashion graduates and designers who team up to hand make and design these pieces and keep up with the trends. “ My inspiration comes from mixing different prints together as I love to mix and clash prints. I think it looks more interesting and has a fresh look also lots of people don’t dare to try this for themselves”.
So what are the new London trends at Kissing in Traffic this spring and summer season? You will find lemon yellow is the color of the season adding a bit of sunshine bright enough to melt away that London fog. Mix a splash of yellow to any outfit to brighten up your look such as the plaid yellow tailored jacket. Looking for a girlier look? Feminine floral prints always puts a bit of romance into any outfit while still looking city chic or for that early lunch date on the town. What else is happening in the trendy streets of London Town? Denim never is one to go out of style. Combining floral and plaid prints, with a bit of vintage retro flare and strips to denim will be enough to stop London traffic. My favorite from her collection is her three piece high waisted floral shorts, paired with matching crop top and tailored jacket. Her designs are vintage inspired bringing a bit of retro to her collections. Her spring summer collection includes: clashing prints, strips, romantic florals, “slash denims”, and a pop of lemonade yellows. Look city pretty this summer with ‘Kissing In Traffic’. Who says you need to travel across the pond to snag some of her designs? Her site www.kissingintraffic.com allows for affordable fashions and shipping anywhere in the world. Bring a bit of of that London flare to your closet this summer!
