The Art of Aging Gracefully
Let’s not kid ourselves. Getting older is a drag, and middle-age is particularly tough! Do the sexy clothes you wore in the past now seem just plain wrong? Will smoky eye makeup that looks great on 19-year-olds make you appear just plain crazy? Part of the problem is that aging often requires change, but most women don’t want to move to a frumpy town called Middle Age, where sensible shoes and boring clothes are de rigueur.

Aging gracefully isn’t just about your looks, though that is big part of it. Aging gracefully is about enjoying the rest of your life, managing your stress and allowing your physical appearance to reflect that. At the Facial Bungalow, aging gracefully is our motto. If your face doesn’t look good, you don’t feel good. Our goal is to help you feel your best without invasive procedures.  Your happiness should be genuine, apparent to others, and become natural to our everyday routine. If you’re looking to learn how to age gracefully, try some of my simple tips, which are really easy, yet proven to help you age gracefully and be happy in the process.

1) Revamp Your Beauty Routine
This is where our team at the Facial Bungalow can really help!  Your face is the first place people look and your skin the largest most visible organ of your body!  At the Facial Bungalow we strive to provide our clients with the most advanced technology available.  And that doesn’t mean invasive machines and injectables.  Our unique menu is tailored exclusively to you and designed to give your skin exactly what it needs.  We have an entire menu designed to help you restore, maintain and prevent aging with cutting edge technologies and machines using lasers, microcurrent, Ultrasound, LED, micro phototherapy, radio frequency, electroporation and Oxygen, along with ground breaking ingredient technologies that work at a DNA level.
2) Eat Smart
Eating smart is about eating the right foods, which are cleaner for your body and the planet, about eating enough calories to maintain your energy and a good mood, and eating foods that improve your metabolism, heart health and manage stress.  Inflammation is the number one thing that ages our body and skin so trying to stick with an anti-inflammatory diet is key. These foods include leafy greens, veggies, raw sources of plant protein, lean sources of protein, healthy plant fats, low glycemic fruits, and root vegetables. Don’t count calories, but count quality! Your skin, hair, nails, body weight and mood will thank you every single day of your life.
3) Move
Aging gracefully is about being energized from the inside out. To keep your energy up, you’ve got to use your muscles. I’m not talking about extreme exercise either. I mean standing for most of the day, moving throughout your home and yard, taking care of chores, playing outside with your dogs, or taking a simple walk. Take a stroll on the street and participate in daily exercise. Anything you can do to move will improve your heart health, your metabolism and decrease your stress.
4) Sleep More
Sleep is such a wonderful thing girls, and one of the best ways to age gracefully of all. Your hormones depend on sleep to manage stress, and one of the best anti-aging hormones you have known as DHEA is actually manufactured while you’re asleep. It is also known as the growth hormone and affects everything from the way you look and age, to how slim you are. Eight hours a night is optimal, but if you can get nine, go for it!
5) Be Sun Smart
The sun is a great source of Vitamin D, which we need, but sunbathing is not the way to get it! All you need to get the recommended amounts of Vitamin D is 15 minutes in quality sunlight, or take a supplement. To age gracefully, be sure to stay out of the sun if you’re not wearing high SPF to protect your skin. This won’t only keep the wrinkles away, but also protect you from cancer, which is affecting more women year after year.
